I’m David Ferry Jr., an editor, photographer and director who believes the best stories are felt before they’re understood.

I’ve spent my career both in the bush and in the edit room, finding the moment in a pile of footage that can either makes someone’s chest tighten or makes them laugh out loud. Whether it’s a documentary, a feature, a commercial, or a wedding day, my job is the same: shape raw moments into something that connects with the person watching.

I’m drawn to the quiet things: a look held half a second longer, a pause that says more than the dialogue, a piece of music that arrives at exactly the right time. That’s where the emotion lives, and that’s what I care about getting right.
